Max Tennyson, known as Grandpa Max, is the paternal Grandfather of Ben and Gwen. Grandpa Max is old and slightly slow but has a fantastic taste of adventure. Unknown to Ben and Gwen, Max was part of an inter-galactic police force called the Plumbers. This explains why Max is much calmer than expected when Ben finds the Omnitrix and begins his understanding of Aliens.

5 years later Grandpa Max goes missing and thus begins Ben, Gwen, and Kevin 11′s adventure to find him and obviously save the Universe. This forces Ben to once again don the Omnitrix and starts Ben 10:Alien Force.
